My mission to find the best short barreled big 338!!!

I really like what I am seeing terminally from the apex bullets. The 147 7mm's have consistent passed through on elk at both close (250ish) and longer (700ish) range, and exited a big mulie diagonally at over 500, with a starting velocity of only a little over 2900, and gellyfied the lungs while...

2015 Prime Alloy 60-70#, 29.5" cams, full setup

Decided to sell my Prime bow. I love shooting it, and I may regret this, it's a fantastic bow, however I use all my gear and gadgets while rifle hunting, and have taken critters over 1000 yards. So for archery, I'm going simple, and going back to hunting with my recurve and home made birch...

300 PRC How short can I go?

I love my 20" 30 nosler. Just check to make sure your can is capable of handling it, I would make sure it's rated for 300 rum@20" at a minimum. Mine was built by LPR, Dallas is awesome. 20" bartlien carbon 8 twist, Bat Vampire action, XLR folding chassis, and 2.5-20 NX-8 sitting in NF 1.125"...

My perfect Wyoming Mountain rifle build thread

I have found this as well. This rifle has proven capable to over 1000 yds, in the hands of a good rifleman. Weight can help for sure, but isn't a requirement for making good shots at range. Especially considering the "average" shot distance of most hunters. This 9ish lb rifle has proven more...

My perfect Wyoming Mountain rifle build thread

Still loving this rifle! Only harvested one elk with it this year, but it worked fantastic in the pack, and when I took this cow at 420 yards from sitting position resting on my tripod, did exactly what it was supposed to. The Apex 187 did well too, the cow went about 25 yards and piled up...

    Father-in-law's rifle build thread

So far so good, rifle was zeroed prior to our mule deer hunt in September. Haven't touched it all season, and he made a great shot on his cow at 690, can't complain too much considering it traveled 20+ miles in his pack and a bunch more in his truck, especially factoring in the price. It's...

Don't remember who asked, but my bullet breakdown of the 147 Apex used in this rifle (and a couple others) is now up on the LRO site. https://www.longrangeonly.com/apex-afterburner-7mm-147-breakdown/
