I don't think this one could ever sit in the safe since the core is the rifle Dad bought me back in 1996 when I was just a kid. Although she's been upgraded, this bang stick's receiver has taken the vast majority of antlered animals I've harvested in my life.
Edit: this is how she started life.
Yeah I think it's absolutely gorgeous. It turned out nicer than it had looked in my head! The only thing I'm still considering is getting the rings cerakoted bronze to match the receiver. Haven't decided for sure on that yet.
That stock isn't really "adjustable" the same way. It works just like the Magpul stocks do - you have to have an additional plastic piece to change the height.
The stock is fantastic. Palm swell is perfect for me, adjustable cheek riser is a clear upgrade over non-adjustable, perfectly rigid, and it has built in QD swivels and mlok rails (which I also had painted bronze for style points).
6lb 8oz
For reference points, some factory carbon fiber barrel, mag fed, adjustable ultralight stock options in 308 with short barrels and brakes are:
Christiansen Arms BA Tactical 20" - 7lb 7oz
Springfield Waypoint 20" - 7lb 5oz
Fierce Carbon Rival XP 22" - 6lb 5oz
Bergara Premier Divide 22"...
Now I've got to build my load for it! Sitting on an 8lb jug of Varget and 500 Berger 168gr Classic Hunter projectiles with a giant pile of sized and trimmed brass.
I know many of y'all have multiple high end custom rifles, but this is my first smithed firearm and I wanted to show her off. She started life as a stock Remington 700 my Dad got me when I was a kid.
