    Animal Targets at Range?

I've used the nra life size deer targets to practice on. 1 shot behind the shoulder and 1 in the ear every 100 yards...... can be very humbling.

    1:7 twist 6.5?

Just wondering, loading for a friend's 6.5-06 with a 1:7, so far doesn't like anything. I might need to try some of the heavy Hammers.

    1:7 twist 6.5?

Pac-Nor makes a 1:7 in a 5 groove. What would steer you toward that twist rate?

    Kill the wolf?

On following FWP recommendations, my neighbor years ago was a FWP biologist who did the yearly surveys and made the recomendations. He saw his work thrown in the trash and those higher up making the decisions did so based on politics, it bothered him so bad he transfered to something else for...

    Pre-64 Model 70 in 6.5-06 AI

I can go as long as 3.420, but 3.385' seems to shoot real good with most loads.I use Norma .270win brass. One stroke to neck down and form the false shoulder. I have also used .280 brass, same process.

Bullet puller? What do you have?

I used the hammer type until I had a primer go off, switched to the collet type.

    Pre-64 Model 70 in 6.5-06 AI

Had to look up the extractor ring, mine already has it. Rich has the reamer designed so the bullet seats right to the base of the neck. I am on my second barrel, wouln't change a thing.

    Pre-64 Model 70 in 6.5-06 AI

Just a thought , maybe don't refer to it as an A.I. unless it actually an Ackley Improved or it is possible you might not get what you want.

    Pre-64 Model 70 in 6.5-06 AI

I rebarreled a pre-64 win to the 6.5 Sherman case, it feeds ok but not a slick as the push feed M70. I can throttle it down to 6.5 284 territory if needed.

What do you think of the 6.5 WBY RPM ?

Don't like it much at first glance, the case is too long so bullets seat too deep unless you can run a much longer oal.

Best methods to create low ES and SD hand loads with the easiest and simplest reloading work up.

Consistent neck tension has produced the most improvement for me. 1)Case neck turning to clean up uneven brass 2)Annealing 3)HBN coated bullets Followed by: seating depth ( either into the lands or.005"+) primer powder match ( I will load every primer to compare, more often than not it will be...

Build a rifle for sheep or bears?

So here's my 2 cents, build the 338 long or short, you want a 338 anyway. Borrow my 40s&w or the 45 colt that I will have by that time for a backup. Dad
