I coresponded with Bob Milek. After Bob's death I visited with Bill and Dudley. I have several of their videos. Unfortunately all VHS and no player. I would like to have DVD copies. Bob Jr. if they are available please let me know. I owned both the 30 and 357 Herret.
I had both of the Herrets in my Contender. I used the 30 for silhouette shooting a 60x60 in a regional championship. The 357 accounted for many deer when NY had the 35 rule. Great rounds. Wish I still had them.
I was born and grew up in Williamsport. Several of my friend's fathers started the 1000 yd. club. They were shooting the 6.5 x 300 Wby. in the early 60's. One of the early gunsmiths (local barber) lived next to my high school. His son and daughter shot deer at long range every year. I...
The 30 Herrett can be very accurate. Many years ago I won the AAA class unlimited Region 1 match with a 14" Contender with a perfect 60. I used the 357 Herrett for deer in NY at the time due to the 35 cal. rule.

Factory Browning 175 gr loads do 2835 in my Browning Max 26" barrel with 1/2" 5 shot groups. Same bullet with H4831sc shoots 1/2" groups for 5 shots also. Velocity is 2850 fps. Most accurate hunting I have ever owned.
I have a Browning Max LR in 6.8 Western. It is probably the most accurate hunting rifle that I have owned. It shoots Browning 175 gr. factory loads in 1/2" for 5 shots. My reloads with the same bullet and H4831sc also shoot into 1/2". I have shot one deer with it and it worked well.
I bought a Hunter in 6.5 Creed. It shot and functioned well so I ordered one in 280AI. Both of the rifles shot below 1" for 3 shots at 100 yds. My stepson has the Creed now. The only problem was magazine capacity on the Creed.
I have four frames and barrels in 204 Ruger, 6.8 spc pistol, 22 KHornet, 300 Winchester, 220 Swift, 12 ga turkey, 12 ga black powder turkey and 50 cal muzzleloader. Shot my best turkey with the bp barrel.
