Nice bulls...and here they always told us your moose were smaller than ours. Sure nothing wrong with those, especially that one on the bottom right. :)
How is the resale value on the Vortex stuff?? I'll bet it's horrendous. :-) and when your paying upwards of $1000 there is lots of room for depreciation too.
Well the germans have been making quality optics for years...the chinese just started selling at higher price points. For me the chinese optics would be OK for shooting paper, but for shooting living animals that I've spent thousands to get in the cross hairs...well Vortex won't ever be on my...
On THAT point you fellows are correct, I was on my way out of town for our hunt and stopped at one of our local outdoor stores, with the older ammo box in hand. I asked them for two boxes of 'these'...so I'd get the same ammunition that I had been using.
I'll call that a lesson learned.
Well I guess that I could have drove 100 miles out of the BC wilderness in the middle of my hunting trip to return them. After all, gasoline and my time off work really aren't worth much. In other words my hunting trip was more important than returning $100 worth of Federal ammunition...
They don't even look like they are both 100gr. I can't be bothered to push Federal any further, it just aggravates me when they come back with those stupid responses.
By showing this on the internet I can warn others about the CRAP that FEDERAL sells and how they treat you when you do have...
I had two boxes of the earlier type bullets also...maybe something happened at the factory?? All I know for sure is I am sure disappointed in Federal....they lost a customer for life over this. I no longer trust them to produce a consistent product.
The ones you fellows think are Barnes...

We recently started MOLY (Molybdenum Disulfide) coating the Nosler Partition bullet in our .243 loads. This coating is why there is a visual difference between the two bullets. One is coated the other is not coated, this is why you are able to see the lead tip on one bullet on the...
Federal claims these are the same bullets [sorry for poor pic quality]. In 2012 I started hunting deer with a 243 and bought what I thought was 100gr Nosler Partitions [two bullets on outside], I was running low this year so went and bought 2 more boxes marked exactly the same as my 2012...
