Oven an MOA past 200 yards? There was a guy here on the forum that was target shooting at 1200 yards with it. That's it. You completely killed ot for me... :) I'll go back to my Vortex Viper FFP 6-24.
The thing is is that you can get the 4 for under $1000 these days.... so really exploring all options. But if bubble is not an option it's useless for very long ranges
I listened to all you wise guys (dropped the 30-06 idea) and got 6.5 creedmor Howa 1500 heavy barreled 24" action with https://www.brownells.com/gun-parts/rifle-parts/rifle-stocks-parts/howa-1500-sa-precision-elite-stock-w-magazine/ yes I got the last one they had.
In any case. I looked around...
I dont hate what you said. I welcome it! Thank you! I already have a scope https://vortexoptics.com/vortex-viper-pst-6-24x50-ffp-riflescope+reticle-EBR-1~MOA
The reason I was asking about 30-06 is because its even cheaper than 6.5 creedmoor (I measured by prices of Hornady ELD-X hunter rounds)...
About the hunting that's irrelevant. Once I am good enough, I'll switch to 300 PRC which is a whole different story. The question now is getting good enough. So that is metal plate at the range at 1000 yards
Yes I was contemplating. Of course I cant compare with your seriousness. I bet you just got 338 Lapua Magnum and Barret MRAD and practice every day 100 rounds. But us the simple less serious people need to take other things into account because we cannot spend as much,
Of course there is. But practice is what makes better. For that one needs to be able to shoot as cheap as possible. I want to do mountain hunting. What I really want is 338 Lapua Magnum. But the ELD-X you are talking about is about $7 per round. So thats out. A compromise would be 300PRC but...

Say 8 inch plate consistent. Yes of course the scope is top notch and so is the shooter.
I dont want to change anything in the rifle and do not want to use any reloads. With Hornady ELD-X Hunter ammo (or other same level ammo). Can I do it? And what accuracy I can achieve at 1000 yards?
