:)Thanks for all the info guys!! I dont reload but plan to one of these days, I hust dont want to spend a few hunfred dollars to try both ammunition. I have been using the hornady superformence 180 gr sst and I shot a antelope right behind the shoulder 2 weeks ago that basicaly exploded on...
Hello All, curious what everyone reccomends for a 300 win mag in 180 grain bullet for deer, elk and bear the berger 185 gr or nosler accubond 180 gr?
Appreciate any info!
Thankslightbulb
We did a hotel, but you can camp just about anywhere on blm land for 14 days. The rifles you mentioned are perfect for antelope. I shoot one rifle and that is a 300 win mag for everything. I have confidence with it and that s what you want.
we hunted unit 73 which requires 2 points each, honestly if i were you i would hunt unit 30, 31 or 32 for buck because you both can get buck tags and doe tags as well. research it but I think its 30 that you can get buck tags without any points. Itsright outside Casper to the east. If i were...
Thanks guys we werent expecting to find dandys or get one but we were curious to see. I guesss the taxidermist is a SCI certified scorer and said they thought it would for sure qualify for bronze. Both horns are the same length, and have good mass. My dad used that system and came up with 74 net...
These travel at around 3100 fps and thats what I wondered is that its such a hot bullet at only 100 yards that it hit the ribs and just fragmented because the damage to the front shoulder ribs and the lungs was unreal. I have never seen anything like that before. I definitely wont use them again...
Hello all, has anyone had issues with the hornady superperformance sst bullets?? I know i was shooting a 300 win mag with 180 grains on antelope but thats the grain bullet my 300 win mag likes and I thought for long range it would perform well. My issue is that I ended up taking a antelope at...
Hey all, any guess on my Dads antelope buck size we did the reccomended measurement on length at 15 3/4 but not sure on the rest of measurements. The taxidermist is a SCI official judge but anticipation has me impatient. Anyways any guess's would be great. Thanks in advance!!
My bucks cape is...
That is a great sytem, I like that a lot. It makes sense and I like that you have the best of both worlds.
Out of curisity what do you do for wind adjustments out past 500 yards? Sorry last question, I really appreciate all the help.
Thanks in advance
Patrick
Ok its making sense now, so I will get the 4.5 14x 40 long range with BC reticle and the CDS. I can use the BC hash marks out to 500 yards and if I need to shoot past that range, I can adjust CDS for further shots correct?lightbulb
If thats the case I agree that sounds better, because I wont...
retiredcpo,
That is what I looked and here is probably a silly question, but if you have the BC reticle dont you just use the hash marks for different ranges(holdover) or is there marks for windage? If so would the cds dial be for windage or is it for elevation and do you make the adjustment...
Hello All, ok I am a newbie to the long range thing and I dont want to waste money on the wrong equipment. I am confused on which product to go with the M1, M2, or Cds dials for either just elevation or both windage and elevation?
I am shooting a 300 win mag floated barrel, 2.5 pound trigger...
