I used my Kifaru DT2 on my moose float and I would be scared to try anything else. We both tagged out and only had to carry one of the moose about 400 yards and it was still miserable.The other we just pulled the raft up to and loaded the meat. Definitely take trekking poles.
My two buddies and I had to kill a cat last year that came in to camp and would not leave using 10 mm. I was not too impressed with the animal taking a couple shots to the body and running off not knowing if he was hit or not. We ended up finding him about 60 yards from camp waiting on us behind...
I have had the Swarovski 65 stm straight and the Leica apo 65 straight. I like my Leica a lot better. One thing about the straight you can go from binos to spotter on your tripod with out much readjustment. That’s kind of important if you have a short window.
