    Best bipod choice for xp100r.

I mainly hunt from elevated stands. Pretty much like shooting from a bench. I do not need as much eye relief as shooting without a rest. I have Rifle Scopes on all of my bolt pistols. I have a combination of Burris Pistol and Weaver Rifle scopes on my Contenders. (One lone Leupold 4X) My...

    Help me pick a pistol…….again!

My local Gun Shop has a Ruger Super RedHawk in 10mm. Get a set of 30mm Ruger Rings and install a 30mm Tube MatchDot, and you are in business. It would be pretty hard to hurt also. Another option would be to have it chambered deeper for 10mm Magnum if you reload. Keep the 1" Factory Rings incase...

    Opening day success.

You did well. Nice shooting, with a nice looking Encore. We have a Doe in the Freezer, and a Buck at the Locker Plant probably ready to pick up either today or tomorrow. Waiting on the call to go after him. Enjoy your deer. This is getting cool enough to be a good time for a big pot of Chilli...

    30_30 imp

I would take a look on the Wilson Combat Site. Bill Wilson is heavy into the 300 HAM'R AR15's at the moment for Hogs and Deer. He is carrying a good supply of .308 bullets that work at 300 HAM'R velocity (125-135 @ 2400 - 2500 fps). I have a box of Speer 135HP in the mail. He had Speer 130FP's...

    Help me pick a pistol

Looks like you are up and running. Your group looks just fine. Next I would do some practicing the way that you hunt. Stand, Blind, Stalking, etc. Bullets will be the next consideration. I have been a fan of the Hornady XTP for a long time. I believe that Hornady makes both a HP and FP version...

    Elk Down-25 Creed Pachmayr Dominator

Nice one. Hope that you recover soon. My wife need's to have both of her knees replaced. She walked on concrete 33 years at work. Bob R

Which Handgun will you use this gun season?

I will most likely hunt with either my 6.5 Creedmoor Nosler M48, or my Gen II Contender in 35 Bullberry. I am running 120 Hornady ELD-M Bullets over Staball 6.5 in the M48. Bob R

Match Open to Handguns in Missouri

A little over a year ago we had the Electric Coop change out several old electric poles. At the same time we added some new poles, with LED Yard Lights. The Light Pole that went to the Multi-Purpose Range was a small Duplex Line that was only good for around 30 Amps, and only 120 Volts. The pole...

Match Open to Handguns in Missouri

The second match suffered from bad weather. The temperature dropped over night from 81 to 43. We also had a slow rain most of the time that we were shooting. We had two entries in 22 LR Handgun both 50 and 100 yard's The same two shooters also entered Hi Power Handgun at both 100 and 200 yards...

So, how do you carry it?

I pack my M48's and Contenders in a zip up case with D-Rings on each end with a sling. I carry it like a muzzle loader possible's bag, carrying the case under my Left Arm. If I feel I might need to access the handgun while moving I leave the end unzipped. This has worked for me for several...

Match Open to Handguns in Missouri

From lets try a match like this, to the first match was two and a half weeks. We passed out around "Five" flyers telling about the match. It was announced at the 600 yd F Class Match. Past that word of mouth. We ended up with 24 shooters. Mostly shooting 22 LR Rifles. Not bad at all for a first...

Match Open to Handguns in Missouri

We have been rebuilding the 200 yard Multi Purpose Range. We have added a new 150 yard berm for Black Powder Cartridge's 22 Rimfire Match. We also widened the 200 yard berm for their Silhouette stands. We also pushed out the 50 yard line. We should be reconstructing the 100 yard berm today after...

Match Open to Handguns in Missouri

Mark so far NO One Piece Rest is the Main Rule. This may be refined some as we progress. This should be pretty low key event. I am still tuning up the old 50 yard benchrest target frames, which are also used by 4-H. I still need to construct a Baffle Wall to put Brakes on the other side of...

Match Open to Handguns in Missouri

We are starting a new Short Course Match at the Big Piney Sportsman's Club. We will have a 22RF Handgun Division, as well as a Centerfire Handgun Division. Shooting a 22 RF you can shoot 50 yards on the IBS 50 yard RF Target and or 100 Yards on the 100 yard IBS Target. Shooting Centerfire you...
