    Texas Outfitters for whitetail

Hey my man. Either option is fine with me. High fence probably gives us the best chance at a wall hanger, but I’m open to suggestions. Same with area. I’ve hunted south TX, central TX, and North Central TX. All were great areas. I’m also open to Muley if that’s an option.

    Texas Outfitters for whitetail

I can't disagree with ya. Also, I'm not being combative…I apologize if it came off that way. I have my own business and was always taught by family that also owned their own business to always return customers calls. It's probably why I do millions in work-but that's not the point. Seems to be a...

    Texas Outfitters for whitetail

So are you saying it's ok to ignore calls from potential customers? Also, I have found that whitetail hunts are not usually booked years in advance. Elk and Mule deer yes. But not whitetail hunts in general, at least from the pro guides I've hunted with.

    Texas Outfitters for whitetail

Looking for recommendations on a solid outfitter in TX for a trophy type whitetail hunt. I’ve called several based off a google search, and not one has returned my call. How do these guys stay in business? The “outfitter” industry is so hit and miss, takes a lot of the fun out of planning a...

    Bedding 2 piece bottom metal

You can use regular bondo to build up or fill in your wood stock. One of the old tricks for fixing small areas of rotten wood moldings (old or new) on a house is to rout out the rotted wood, and fill in and shape with regular bondo. In many cases it far outweighs ripping windows out of the...

    March 2.5x25x52mm SFP scopes?

I have been looking at the March myself, but in reading some reviews there have been some complaints on these scopes. One is the actual mil turret "measurement" is not a mil... It basically doesn't track true. For hunting, I'm not sure that really matters...I know it doesn't to me. The other...

    Reticle/turret leveling?

I use a CTK level on my picatinny rails, level the gun, lock it down in my bench vise then use a fluorescent string line out about 40 yards to verify plumb on the reticles. Shoot out to 1000 yards and it works beautifully, at least for me.

any thoughts on the vortex gen ll pst's?

Eh...got my PST II and the **** lighting knob is so stiff I can hardly move it by hand. Glass is nice, eyebox is good. But quality control looks to be a bit iffy.

Talley lightweight vs Picatinny rail and rings?

Seekins or Nightforce, both for rings and picatinny rail. Theres a lot of good manufacturers, but for me both of these brands have been on magnum rifles and survived drops, airline TSA handlers, and jaunts in hard plastic cases on top of Polaris 4x4 racks traveling 40 MPH thru rocks and crappy...

SIG Kilo 2400 with Applied Ballistics!!

I can only answer for me. All my guns are custom so I know the exact twist. Muzzle velocity I either use a magneto speed or simply look up manuf listed velocities and adjust by my drops in one of my apps. I'm not talking about drops in the app as much as the BC listed for the bullet...

SIG Kilo 2400 with Applied Ballistics!!

I've seen this asked in a couple other forums with no answer, just an FYI. The G7 I played around with matched up with the published values I researched, at least on the calibers I use.

SIG Kilo 2400 with Applied Ballistics!!

Picked one of these up at Cabelas the other day. Had some reward points and a coupon so it was a no brainer. Pros: Compact and lightweight, very well built, quality extends all the way into even the pen they include. Once I managed to get it connected by BT to my iPhone 7 it connects...
