To slow for a wby imo. I've played with it some in my 7-300nmi. I don't think you have enough case capacity to get any speed out of your wby with it. I settled on retumbo for my 300wby. One of the pickiest rifles I own.

It’s crazy how well some of these 7-300nmi will shoot with a torched throat. Mine shot great still. I just noticed bullets starting to blow up. Then I saw why when I looked at it lol. This is a neat thread you have started and has lots of good info in it. Nice rifle by the way.

I have both. On paper you wouldn’t tell the difference. I don’t have a proof. The only prefit I have is a criterian. Bought it from a guy who won it at a fund raiser. I knew the smith and wanted it. It will shoot lights out for what it’s worth.

I think you will have more wounded coyotes than dead ones if you hit one at that distance with a 6 arc. If dead set on a gas gun I'd say you’re gonna want a ar10. I personally like bolt guns at that distance.

I have one still. The glass sucks and at 700 yards you are shooting at 1/2 of the deer body because the reticle is a 1/2 inch thick…. Makes for a quick easy shot after your ballistics are correct. If they would get rid of the 1/2 acre reticle and 1960 glass think they would be a great...

Berger is all I shoot. I did get some custom Swedge 180s from robinett to try. Still the same deal. It's just time for a 5r with a new throat lol. You got a nice round, and I'm glad I have mine. I wouldn't change a thing besides starting out with a 5r on mine. I've learned a lot from it...

I smoked one in 250 rounds. Not entirely the guns fault. I was trying different things, pushing it hard, and didn't let it cool like I should have I'd say. Still had good accuracy but the throat was gone and it started having blow ups.
