I agree with the 150 gr being preferred. I had great luck with the Winchester power points.

Like others, I dial for elevation and hold for windage. Elevation is known and wind is always Changing

Generally I use 6-24 but if stand hunting I have used my 12-42 NF too

165-168 seems to work with 308 powder capacity

After zeroing at 100, I will check my scope by slowly maxing it out just to see how much elevation I have left in it. If too much, I will go to a higher moa base so I can have more elevation available for longer ranges

The flexibility of the 300 WM would be the deciding factor for me. There isn’t much it can’t do and do well

I have killed a couple black bears and always shot them about 1” behind and 1” below the base of their ear. Around the swamps you always wanted to drop them.

I had a Benchrest/varmint gun that did the same thing. Mediocre groups at 300 and then tighter (in moa) at 500. Like never explain it.
