For big Mule deer here in the Pacific Northwest. I really like the Nosler 165gr Accubond. Fast and flat. If I’m in our big open Elk country I run the 215gr Berger’s.
I'm shooting the 134gr ELD-M in a custom Tikka. 24" bbl , chambered in 25-284. fluted Brux 3 contour in a 1-7 twist. Custom Manson reamer . I had set up for the 134gr to have the boat tail shank junction just slightly above the neck shoulder junction. It's accurate and fast.
The load I settled...
Total fail! It would shoot them tight at 10 yards. At 50 yards. Everything went through the target side ways. My Ruger ranch rifle doesn’t have the correct twist rate.
Benchmark .30 Cal Stainless blank.
Medium Palma contour
27"
1-9.5 twist
$375.00 to the lower 48. Check, money order or Apple Pay.
Will trade for a pile of 6mm 90gr Accubond's or 90gr Swift scirocco’s.
Just kicked off our Walleye fishing here in Central WA yesterday. Waters still a little cool 51 degrees. Mixed bag running bottom walkers and spinner/smileys and a warm harness or slow death hook tipped with a night crawler. 38-50ft of water .8 MPH . Mixed bag Walleye, Burbot and big Perch.
Amazing ! Use quality rings at the proper torque and the fanatically scope ring mark crowd runs for the hills.
Pulled the ARC rings today and mounted it, in a set of Cerakoted Nightforce alloy rings.
