Hi Don We know each other from ts-com. You've rebuilt my P=gun triggers in the past (still going great BTW, but we haven't met in person though. I'll send you a pm...

Right! As well as other iterations of outdoor hobbies we can segue into; be it fishing (the dreaded "two-foot-itis"), archery (never got into stick flingin' but I have mass respect for those that do!), shed hunting, and various other endeavors.

Sea duck hunting outfitter NW Washington?

Never thought it would happen. I should have traded a mallard hunt when I had the chance to years ago! (I was offered several times, by guys I salmon fished around...shaking head!)

    Nosler long range Accubond experience

Good info and much appreciated! I LOVE the regular 140 AB's in my .270WSM reloads. They print dimes, and punch cash registers out the backside of deer in my 20yo SS T-3! Nothing walks away. Now that I have (2) new 300wm's, I'll be starting to look for projectiles for them.

    Drew Oryx-NR-Off Range

My kid got his 2 years ago, off range youth hunt. He used his .300wm, 180 AB's and his Oryx took 3 shots and still packed some mail. Great hunt and great meat! I've got a buddy who's a guide in NM that we stayed with near T&C. We were by WS. Really cool experience.

    Walleye Fishing and State Records

We have big walleye in WA state. I'm a salmon/steelhead fisherman but we will fish for walleye on occasion. Not sure of our state record size...just looked it up, 20.32#-2014. My dad had a 16.27# walleye caught in 2004, on a herring and silver salmon dodger (salmon fishing in the Columbia).

    Recoil and aging

As mentioned above, easiest way to drop some felt recoil is to lower the payload on your shells. Try dropping down to 2-3/4" and see how that feels..

What is the advantage of a 30" bbl over a 28" bbl

Pretty well beat to death above, but if used in the field..I'd wager that the 28" is the most popular length. I always preferred the 26", except in a blind, as it can blast your partner's ears a tad easier when there's a ruckus going on. IMO, the 30" barrel is obsolete except for sporting games...

    Favorite shotgun

Cool topic, and it's really where I should introduce myself. I was raised as a bird hunter, and did so predominately up into my late 20's. Only starting to kill deer around 30 years ago (I'll be 53 next month). Rifles always bored me, shooting at a stationary "dot" didn't excite me. Only...

    Trap Distance Question

The others guys covered it. Club "rules" vary per club. At most clubs in my area, trap shooting for "practice", which is every day that doesn't have a registered "shoot" (like 98% of the shoot days) the score card dictates the shooting distance. If it's a "handicap squad", it'll be written on...

    Hunting Rifle

Glad you're happy with your new rifle! Nothing like "retail therapy", to justify the deed of trading our time for cash! ;) In regard to the OP's communication with Seekins; I too inquired with their CS via email in November/December 2023. The response time wasn't immediate, but I knew from...
