Yep. Acquire target on lower power and turn up as needed. A good tip is not to be too up in power on live game because it is very easy...

Man I’m definitely a weirdo. 300-600 I find myself at around 16x for that entire distance. But I’ve always liked more magnification

I am in that range of 6 to 12ish also.

For 300-600 yard shots in field conditions I typically find myself using the 10-12× magnification on my scopes.
