    22-250 for deer

I totally agree that a 22-250 is not the best choice for deer sized game. and the person I'm loading for owns several other rifles....... but I have been unable to persuade him of the folly! so that being said, I am trying to load the best round possible for the task. I believe that we can do...

    California Elk, input needed.

I was drawn in my company lottery for a N.E california landowner bull tag. I have hunted elk in Arizona for many of my years there, cow tags on my part. but learned a thing or two about bull hunting. I am looking for any specific advise on N.E. cal elk, will have the run of all S.P.I land within...

    22-250 for deer

It took a while to order, load and shoot, but thought I would update on bullet selection for the 22-250. the 60gr nosler partition will not stabilize in our rifle. at 50 yrds the group was 3.5 in. left of bull, 3in high and 1in right, then low and right. so to save the next guy $30, it won't...

    22-250 for deer

Well, that's a lot of good info. I guess I'll get a box of 60gr partitions and see if they shoot....... I'm still sceptical but it's only a $30.00 mistake at worst. But if they don't I can count on one of you guys to buy the rest off me right? LOL. thanks for the input, all good stuff..............

    22-250 for deer

Am I wrong that the ballistic tips these days are in 2 categories, varmint/big game.....? I think that all .22 are thin jacket varmint bullets.

Starting out Caliber suggestions and advice.

Sounds like price is a factor, I know the feeling. Make friends with a competent gunsmith and follow your goals/wallet to the best you can afford. I am a timney trigger guy.... ford vs chevy..... start with that and a bedded action, free floated barrel, shoot, shoot, then shoot some more! my...
