I shot my deer this year with a 210 TSX from my .338 RUM muzzel velocity was 3376 droppes it right in its tracks. Another deer was shot with a 130 TSX from .264 dropped right in its tracks that bullet hit the deer at about 2800 fps. I havn't hit anything slower than that yet but will keep an I...
I'm looking for loading data for a .264 Win Mag. I'm building one a model 700 action with a 27" Schneider barrel and am curious what others are shooting in there rifles.
Thanks guys for the feedback that's what I wanted to hear! After reading your responses I'm glad I'm going with a Schneider barrel for my new .264 Win Mag. Thanks Again!
I( may be off base but would a quailty barrel that has been hand lapped to a mirror finish require "breaking in". Isn't the point of "breaking in" a barrel to fire lap a barrel and remove same inperfections like burrs and such. To me only a factory or lower quailty barrel would need such...
I'm wondering has anyone out here used a Schneider Barrel and if so what do they think of it. I'm building a .264 this spring and was told about these barrels and now I'm wondering what others think?
I like the 6.5 Dakota idea myself but opted to build a .264 Win Mag instead. I like the 6.5mm calibers myself and wanted to push the new 6.5mm 130gr Swift Scirocco pretty fast and went with the Win Mag. That bullet from Swift has a BC of .571. I can't wait to see what it does in my rifle when...
The 7mm STW is a wildcat based off the 8mm Rem Mag case and was brought to commercial production by Remington and later dropped do to the introduction of the 7mm RUM. It is a very accurate round that is very close balisticly to the 7mm RUM. I owned and reloaded one for a couple years it was nice...
I like the concept of the new MRX bullets but it remains to be seen if there is going to be any great improvment over the standard TSX. I reload the TSX now for practice and hunting those bullets are very accurate and flat *** devastating on anything I shoot with them. They will have to show a...
The prices for these will be 21-23 dollars for 20 bullets.
This info came dirrectly from Barnes.
The MRX will initially be offered in
270-130 and 150
7mm - 140 and 160

338-185 and 225
I would start from the ground up with a Remington 700 Titianium action open up the bolt face and install a Sako extractor then chamber it for a 6.5mm WSM using 270 WSM brass from Norma. I would also push the shoulder back just a bit to increase neck length it would kind of look like a SAUM case...
