I had this same issue with a Howa Super Lite in 308Win. Had heavy bolt lift with Federal Nat'l Match. A good chamber scrubbing solved.

Congrats. 458 is plenty long enough. While it is great to have the capability, I will take 50 yards over 500 yards every day.

I would go 20" and use a 7" can. Rifle will still be reasonably handy and you will get most of the benefit from the supressor.
