I run an 18" DD hammer forged barrel with a 7" twist. It shoots 55 grain blitz kings just as well as 77 grain SMKs.

FWIW I Hate cleaning .223 1:7's. Even 1:8's are easier, but my preference - from a purely cleaning perspective - is for 1:9's.
