That would work also. I usually have a lighter handy in a pocket, my ferro rod is in my pack in a fire kit. (less handy)

IMO if you're going into a situation where you're gonna need/ want a mini stove you're gonna need a lighter anyway.

I think ur looking at the wrong drawing. Even the one you posted shows .277" neck Diameter +.002" tolerance. I think ur using the wrong...

How so? Cartridge neck diameter is only .002 over SAAMI spec when fired which seems tight to me.
