Accuracy decrease with supressor on

Are you getting bullet strike? 8MOA is absolutely ridiculous.
No baffle strikes which is what I suspected at first, I then put on the shorty version of the same model suppressor and groups tightened back up. Rifle is a DD5V1 semiauto and suppressors are AAC 762 SD and its shorter brother AAC 762-SDN-6. I was suprised and shot 3 more groups just to be sure I was suprised. The only thing I suspect is baffle erosion in the SD as it has a lot of rounds through it and with a flashlight you can see the first 3 or 4 baffles have significant erosion. I put it on a different 308 and a 6.5 creedmoor and it shoots great. Go figure

Mine is acting the opposite what others are saying. My speed seems slow with my suppressor on. Running the same length barrel as my buddy he is getting at least 200 FPS faster then me.

You're seeing a 200 FPS decrease putting a can on? Or you didn't shoot yours without the can to confirm it's 200 FPS slow with AND without the can?

Do you have a cover on your can? Could be mirage from the suppressor heating up. What's your ambient air temp. Shoot at a 100 and report back.. have two targets. Go round Robin style. Shoot no can at target 1. Place can on and shoot target 2. Remove and shot 3rd shot on target 1. I'd be interested to see your no can groups this way

No cover, it was 10 degrees. Only 3 rounds before letting it cool. Which doesn't take long at that temp! Also did the same thing at 100 yards back in November with the 88 gr hammer load.

I'd round Robin that load. Also when was that load developed? When it was 10 degrees. My cans get pretty hot quick ... could be mirage but most likely a bad load... what Can is it ?

Load was developed that day. Gemtech Tracker.
I'd say you need to work on the load. Was there a big velocity swing? How many rounds down the barrel. Usually 200 rounds is when the varrel settles more and is nice and broken in. Barrels will speed up.. passing up on your loads.

If you plan to use a can all the time then do load development with the Can on. Otherwise the POI shift can throw off your nodes, just like the lovely Magnetospeed does

Joining in on this conversation. I recently got my first can and have tried it on my LR-308 and just this weekend, on my 6.5 Creedmoor. While it (predictably) changed the POI on my 308, it didn't seem to affect it's accuracy. My Bergara 6.5 Creedmoor is a different story. Without the can, my Bergara easily shoots sub-MOA but with the supressor, it widens the pattern to between 2 and 3 MOA. This rifle really loves Hornady Black 140 grain factory loads and consistently shoots between 0.5 and 0.75 MOA with those store-bought rounds, so it's a huge disappointment to lose that cartridge just to shoot supressed. I guess I'll have to go back to ladder testing hand loads until I find one that shoots consistently with a can. :(

Yep, extra weight and pressure profile changes in bbl, change the harmonics, and sometimes you lose.

W can, it may have to be different load sounds like.

This is the first time I have had a rifle that shot worse with my suppressor on. Has happened with 2 differnt loads, 88 gr hammers and 108 eldm. Both loads shoot a little under 1/2 MOA at 100 yards with no suppressor. Any explanation?

6mm Creedmoor, Bartlien #4 Carbon Fiber, 24" on a Tikka bedded in a Manners stock. BA was built by Deep South Tactical. Gemtech Tracker suppressor

First time with the hammers I thought it was because I was in a hurry trying to get ready for hunt. Today confirmed this set up doesn't like a suppressor. Just curious why maybe that is
As Plinker147 said..
Harmonics...I have the same problem with a 338 Savage Elite Precision.....I have tried 3 different EXPENSIVE BRAKES from three Top manufacturers.....nothing works. The moment I thread anyone of them on groups go from .337 five shots to......HELLO...just like yours....and no amount of load development can cure the shotgun effect!...It's harmonics
