Normally I wouldnt think anything about a deer vs. vehicle collision, but this one is out of the norm. Guy driving his Chevy Trailblazer in the left-hand lane of our local highway here hits this "BRUISER" and knocks it into a Dodge Charger being driven by......wait for it........none other than HIS WIFE in the right-hand lane next to him. Nobody was injured, two vehicles totaled, a "shooter" buck now adorns the roadside and I've got some paper-work ahead of me.....

Those were some gnarly bases on the old bruiser.....
Idaho..to claim a roadkill it has to be "tagged"....pick it up and get info to fish and game dept....or pickit and get ticket......
Idaho lays claim to all game animals....if you hit one your are allowed to keep it to offset expenses........

He was a dandy! Roadside pictures I snapped with my phone before going to the next call dont do him justice. But, then, of course, neither did being hit by a Chevy AND a Dodge!

Had too many does on his mind...

Nearly happened to me a time or two. Still vertical though......AND married thank God!:D

Anyone can get it and do what they want with it. I just drove by that spot again on the way to another call and somebody had already stopped and hacked the antlers off.....
That shouldn't be allowed, they should have to take the whole deer and dispose of anything that they can't use or don't want ! I was a deputy wildlife officer in PA for 25 years, and anyone could pick the deer up, but had to notify a warden or division office and get a permit to keep it ! The hide and head would have to be turned in. They would sell the buck heads and capes, also other road killed animals would be sold to people that wanted them to mount !

I couldnt agree with you more! I have searched our Kentucky Revised Statutes (and how they pertain to wildlife) many times looking for an applicable statute that addresses the issue, but I cant find a single thing on it.
