sig sauer kilo 2000 rangefinder

Totally understand, and you are right. When using the sig though, the scan mode makes it easy to make sure you are ranging your intended target, it's hard to explain you have to just use it.

Would I buy a sig if I already had a leica 1600b? Highly doubt it. The sig may be better for farther targets, but for any practical hunting range for the majority of us (under 1200 or so) both of them do a great job, and can easily range the body of animals at those ranges. I got a sig instead of the leica because I didn't have a great rangefinder to begin with. I had played with my shooting buddies leica and really liked it and was actually going to get one until I started researching the sig. Between the two for hunting situations, they are close, with the sig costing less money. Main reason I have a sig ha ha

Cody,

U nailed it.

If I didn't have a 375 AM and planning another ELR rig I'd still have my tried and true 1600.

savinglots.com got some in today at $399 plus some shipping. Advanced American Arms also got some in, low $400 range.

Tried first with Dave at the Gun Shed. He had sold his last unit an hour before I got him on the phone (he did say he's got more coming in). Placed an online order with Advanced American Arms same evening (11 JAN) and it arrived this morning (15 JAN). No muss - No fuss $436.98 gets it to your door.

Thanks for the great leads on this product.

Just got mine in the mail today. Ordered from savinglots.com for $415 shipped, was here in 4 days and has yet to disappoint me. This rangefinder is unbelievably fast. Can't wait to get it out tomorrow to see what it can do.

So i have been searching for a little more info on the Sig Kilo 2000. One thing i can't find. Dose the elevation compensation mode work through out the range mode? I know the Leica 1600 will not compensate under i thing 100 or over 850 or something like that. Dose it work at 20 yard and at 1200. Thinking of using it for archery as well as long range .

She works across the entire range.

There are no bells and whistles on this thing such as bullet drop etc. I prefer straight forward stuff...

How well does the kilo gather light?
I fooled around with several range finders in a big store. I was able to range into a corner that was in the shadows. The Leupold and Leica were good and you could see the target clearly, others were in comparison, fair to poor. You can't range an animal if you cant see it.
Any of you guys with Leupold 1200 or Leica 1600 compare them to the kilo in low light conditions or target in the shadows?

Leica definitely has better optics as I noticed when I compared my 1600 with the Kilo.

I could see the same stuff with the Kilo as I could with the Leica. Not quite so clear and sharp though. Close enough that the extended ranging ability out weighed the optics, by far.
