When Things Go Bad!

I don't think most hunters understand how far 650 yards really is... it's a third of a mile, a 10 minute walk in rough terrain. Good advice. I'd only add one thing: shooting past 300 yards without a level on your rifle to prevent canting makes it very difficult to hit within a foot of your point of aim, especially if your quarry isn't standing level.

Good article.
Too many times I have seen people over estimate their skill, or conditions. I have helped on chase, track downs and killed the animals. Sometimes they are screaming in pain, eyes wide open in fear.
I have learned to not trust my eyes as to distance. A mirage, wind, headache, excitement, my bad lungs or ego just ruin things, lasers help.
If I am not sure, I don't shoot.
Thank you.
