Welcome to LRH!

I am thankful for all of my involvement in long range hunting over the years. I first got into long range shooting and hunting when my son Andy was in his teens. We were fortunate to do some fantastic back country hunts in the western US, Alaska and Mexico and at the same time we had a large marsh on our Wisconsin deer hunting land that we liked to stay out of so it would act as a sanctuary. In the 1990's I began shooting bucks out to 500 yards or so in the marsh from a perch high atop a great 100 year old broken off pine tree.

When I posted in some general hunting forums about my long range successes in Wisconsin and out West my threads were inevitably hijacked by naysayers who wanted to debate the ethics of my shots. One day I'd had enough and I decided to start my own forum where long range hunting and shooting could be discussed without all the negative fuss - and in 2001 LRH was born!

I am extremely thankful for all of the wonderful, insightful contributors to LRH over the years and we all owe them a huge debt of gratitude. It's amazing for me to think back to those days when it wasn't easy to find information to help take my long range shooting to the next level. In the early years we LRH'rs were a relatively small group but we sure had fun. Now we are up to over 83,000 LRH members and 350,000 different visitors each month and long range hunting can now be found dominating the covers of huge national print magazines.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and thank you for visiting our LRH site. We all hope you'll become a part of our LRH family.

P.S. -- My sons wanted to poke fun at me so they made me post this picture of me after dressing in the tent at oh-dark-thirty.
