Took a side trip to Yellowstone after my Wyoming Antelope Hunt in October. This bull was bedded on a rise overlooking his herd of cows. Picture was shot with a Nikon Dr 300 and a 70-300mm f/4-5.6 AF Nikkor lens. Shot was taken at 195mm, 5.6, ISO 360, 1/500.

If the snow is deep, the wolves have probably drug him down by now. I only saw a few elk in Yellowstone. I hear there used to be thousands.

I found a wolf kill just outside of Yellowstone in thorofare while Elk hunting. The bull scored 342 my buddy and I carried it five miles back to camp. We decided to call him five mile bull.
