You might get a straight rod, but you might not. If you get a slightly bent rod, which happens frequently, it's useless as an alignment rod. McMaster won't replace it as they offer no guarantee on straightness. Most of their W1 and A2 rods are speced at .005" per foot for straightness, which is adequate for checking alignment. If you receive one that's out of spec they'll replace it.
