I was away from home for 3 months hunting in 4 different states, as well as up in the northern LP of MI where I have hunting property and am now back and getting caught up on the computer. It amazes me that this swamphunter guy claims to be from MN and doesn't seem to know squat about this subject! I can tell you that these wolves have now overpopulated some of these areas you're talking about to the extent that they are moving out considerable distances to establish themselves and gain more and more ground and ecosystems than was ever envisioned. I hunt way over in the southwest part of the BigHorn Mountains of Wyoming and they are now way over here, although the Feds and F&G Dept. is trying to keep it as quiet as possible. Two different ranches, one of which is right next to the ranch I sometimes hunt on and raises sheep and cattle, were hit bad in the last couple years. A government agent, whose Dad I met through a mutual friend, killed 3 out of the pack and one that was thought to be the alpha male had been collared way up in Montana north of the Park and over 300 miles away as the crow flies. I saw a wolf track just this past year when helping survey a fence line separating the the two ranches (see attached picture), so one of these days there will be more trouble in the area as they get established in a whole new ecosystem. I'm afraid, and I hate to say this as a retired LE Investigator, that the only way we have a chance in this battle is to take the law into our own hands and practice the SSS method! There just aren't enough people shooting the amount of wolves needed in the various areas where they are now being allowed tags to do much good IMHO. As was stated in any earlier post, the amount that will be taken by hunters is about enough to just give them a stronger hold on their areas and allow them to stay healthy and increase their range like they are doing. Now the Feds and antis want to put them coast to coast and if allowed to do so it won't be too many years (possibly one generation) before they won't even need to try for our firearms because there won't be much need for them as far as hunting goes! Sad but true!!!

[QUOTE="Topgun 30-06, post: 591511, member: 28854"] Hey everyone!
