My only bad experience with them, was that I sold a few that I should have kept. I am talking older 870's not the new versions 2000 to present. The older pre-1990 wing masters were and are still the best shooting shotguns available IMO. It does what every shotgun should do, regardless of how you treat it. use it as a boat paddle, then load it up and it goes bang, bang bang. They might not be semi's or the most beautiful gun ever made, but if I was only allowed one shotgun for the rest of my life and I was going where spare parts are not available, it would be the only gun I would even consider. My Wing master has shot and ejected every shell I have fed her since I bought it used in 1986. I bet 50,000 rounds have been through her. No parts replaced, just have to clean it every year and had to file a sharper edge on the extractor at about 35,000 rounds and clean behind the extractor in the bolt. Guns are bullet proof. I do have many O/U's, SXS's and semis and I must admit my wing master is left in the safe on many occasions, but that is particularly true as I am not shooting mostly .410's for sport and clays. My go to gun for now is a Browning 725 in .410.
