Proud papa moment. My 21 year old daughter took her first deer this past weekend. Got invited to cull hunt on a friends ranch in Carrizo Springs, Tx. Perfect neck shot just under 100 yards on this doe using the 124 gr HH in my 6.5 Creed (3034 fps). DRT!! Exit wound was about 1.5-2" in diameter and took out part of the shoulder blade. Other than some bone fragments, there was little meat damage. My daughter is now hooked on hunting. After the shot, she got the adrenaline shakes and then started crying (tears of joy). She kept saying "I dropped her…….I told you I was a good shot". She now refers to the rifle as "her rifle"(Bean will be happy I'm not shooting a Creed anymore) and hunting is "her new addiction". I didn't even bother to put a round in my 7STW since the whole weekend was about her, and I enjoyed the entire experience more than if I shot something. My daughter helped gut and skin the deer, so she learned the whole process and got the full experience. She even bought a little display case for the fired brass case.
