Ordered a new Rem Model 700 Varmint SF 308 today. Rather excited about it. Will be using it on WYO speed goat trips and long distance NC white hunts. I do have one question. Most Remington 308 guns have 1 in 10 twist. This gun has 1 in 12. What weight bullets might it spit out better?gun)

The heaviest bullets recommended for the 1:12 is a 185-190.

My suggestion... Berger 185 VLD seated to 2.810" COAL, Varget powder, Lapua brass, and Federal 210M primers. Work up your powder charge, and you should be very happy with the results.

Berger manual calls for Varget & 185's: Start - 37.5 / Max - 41.6 grains.
