I taped him at 80 1/8”. He drug me 2.5 miles just to get a good look to see if I wanted to shoot. I had him at 565 yards when I decided I wanted to take him. I tried to get to the hill just in front of me but when I made it he was out of sight. I wanted to come at him from below but the wind was going up the canyon so I had to come from above. As I was sneaking in I noticed two of his many does then him. It was now or never. I made a poor kneeling shot at 110 yards. The 30 Nosler and 215 Bergers made up for the shot placement. I should have taken the 565 yard shot. Total stalk was 3 miles. I ended up taking him 300 yards from a two track which made recovery easy. He will look great on the wall. Much needed after a tough Colorado deer hunt. The rifle is a Stocky's Long Range Carbon stocked Christensen Ridgeline
