I'll second the Scarpa Feugos. They are my go to SAR boot. I blew out the shank of my last pair in 6 months, Scarpa warrantied them no questions. Turns out they don't take too well to kicking trailer hitch couplers into submission... New boots arrived on a Friday and wouldn't you know it we got a call on Saturday. Hiked +7 miles of Canadian shield over night, in new boots, with cotton socks. Couple hot spots and a small heel blister. I did regularly dunk them in Minnesotas finest swamp water, which seemed to help with break in but generated a healthy leech farm by the end of the night... My day to day boot is Whites Smoke Jumper, I like them better than the Scarpas. But if they sit for a length of time (like in the ready position in my squad truck), they seem to lose their fit. They seem to relax and 're-break-in' after about 30 minutes but when I get a SAR call its go time from word one. No time for boots to relax.
