Let's talk about 2 mile cartridges

No one doing 375 HE will be done in time, as far as

I know, maybe by Tonapah match later this summer.. Ed

Applied Ballistics shooter Mitch Fitzpatrick just hit 3 of 5 at 3520 yards,
this weekend at Valdina Ranch , west of San Antonio.
He is now the only shooter moved on to 4100 yards!
Unfortunately Mitch couldn't connect at 4100 yards. The natural
variables are magnified so much at these distances!
A great accomplishment at the 2017 World's Longest Shot Challenge.

Theis- Here is picture that explains what we have learned about

cases too thick in the sides, relative to their size, which causes thick

sided cases to extract hard, and stick.. As cases don't spring back and

lose some grip on side of the chamber, after firing heavier loads....

Our case on left just as big inside as other, been fired with hot loads a

few times, extracted fine , trex on right from from bunch guy had that hung up,

hung on any load over 50k psi, And trex only necked down to 585.....

And trex base .055" bigger, but drawing process for that size not enough

to harden brass to get top brass tensile strength of 70k psi on that thickness....

Some are doing new longer versions with same thick construction,

with bigger diameter base like trex, some even .010-.020" more than trex,

from what pictures show. Going to be necked way down for Elr cases,

and they will be hung up like my friends with trex cases when loaded heavy....Ed

I saw that also, cant even think how much elevation that would take! Good thing is one less!!!!!

230+ MOA (I don't do M-RAD) we don't know the projectile or velocity so this is a medium case.
over 8000 inches as in more than 660 feet.
Windage at 10mph 90 degrees would be over 55 feet.

About 2 mile military sniper shot kill of Isis soldier
in Iraq that is the latest news...

By Paul Philips, from FB...

In response to the latest amazing 2.1 mile Canadian Armed forces
sniper shot in question, A lot of my friends have been asking
if this is possible or not.

If there are any doubters out there?!

There will be many events in the USA where you can come watch 1-2 mile
shots. Visit ELR Central, FB, for more Information. The science of
accuracy and improvement of rifle components have made this possible.

Below is a photo of a 17x22 inch consecutive 3 shot group @ 2.05 miles
made with my 375 Lethal Mag. Bryan Litz on the trigger and
Emil Praslick on the wind.

In the other photo, these 3 impacts were made by fellow team mates
Mitchell Fitzpatrick, Derek Rodgers and Bryan Litz. Emil Praslick
and Paul Phillips on the wind. All three impacts were made with only
3 rounds each. So within 3 rounds for three shooters in a row we were
able to make impacts on a 36 inch plate (1 moa) at 2 miles or 3613 yards.

The purpose behind our research is to help improve technology
and increase our hit % at extreme ranges. This will help save
lives and bring our troops home safely.
