I am curious about what everyone has learned along the way.

I grew up hunting, mostly road hunting.

Now that I am older, I have learned about thermals, wind, spot and stalk, calling, and other things.

What would you do differently from what dad or grandpa taught you?

My biggest one is glassing. We did this as a hunting party but didn't act on it much. I was always told they'd get closer. I have since learned to read wind and thermals and get closer without blowing game out of the valley or drainage.

I learned more on glassing during a sheep hunt a few years back. Be patient, look, and look again. Let the binoculars do the walking. Then figure out where and how to be in a strategic spot.

Just curious on some other peoples best lessons and what we weren't told as yougnsters.
