As an under layer, it's hard to beat polypropylene long johns, they just don't hold sweat when you're hiking then light merino (Kuiu Ultra merino 145 zip t hoodie), then puffy (Kuiu quixdown) then water/windproof layer. For socks, it's hard to beat the filson over the calf heavy merino wool. For boots it depends on your feet, but mine like Lowa Tibet GTX. Also +1 on the Big Agnes sleep system. I have Anvil horn and the NeoAir Xtherm Max for backcountry. NeoAir is best r-value to weight that I found.
