HELP - Can't figure out what rifle nor what scope this is?

Just found this old rifle online. Chambered in 308 but thats about as much info as there is to it. It looks like a Remington 700 with a bull barrel of sorts but I'm not sure. As for the scope there aren't any pictures that can show the make. Can anyone help me out?

I think you're right. The scope looks like an older model VXIII leupold.
