Yes sir, that's the pin.
We looked into every individual part on the action, and tried to find a better solution to what was currently being offered. The pins are one example. Another example is how we engineered the bolt stop. Instead of using a vertical pin to secure the bolt stop, we designed the stop to use a horizontal pin, which offers significantly more strength.
 
We actually are using the largest retaining pin that we could. We didn't like the roll pin style, so we went with a spiral wound pin. No issues yet.
Great choice. If you eliminate the key failure point like this you'll have by far the best M16 extractor on the market. There is no substitute for positive extraction.
