First meal from my spring bear. Pretty standard stew but used red potatoes, onion, frozen corn and lima beans. Very tender bear.

How are you guys cooking it?:)

It's been a while but the last time I did it's similar to yours except I used barley. The barley gives a nutty flavor.

For tomato based stock/sauce, I like using hominy.

Maybe I get lucky on a bear harvest this year. :D

I crock pot every thing for bear chilly ... Stew just like u would cow Berger ....I can't tell the difference ... Between. 3 wild meats. Cow Berger stands out now

After cubing the meat I season flower usually in a Creole powder I'm fond of. Dredge the meat and brown it off in a frying pan with about ,25-.50 in. of Canola oil. Then just treat the whole rest of the operation as you would beef stew. I like using small whole red potatoes cut in half, keep the carrots about 3" long I'm a fan of shrooms and zuke as well.......I'm Hungry......gun)..........................:)
