I only have binos at this point. I sold my scopes as they had great glass, but the turrets were not to my liking and three was plastic inside for the adjustments and that worried me. I had one fail to track and that is when I found out about the plastic internals. That might not be the case today, so to not take this comment as the fact today, but it was an issue 8-10 years ago.

I have two of the older Heila C I fairly sure about 20years old both look like new with boxes. One is the 1.5-6x42 and the other is a 2-10x50 If interested PM me

Honestly age isnt a factor. Usually machining was better the farther back you go.
