'midnight', a couple years ago I was in the same need. I had components to build a 7lrm & decided to look at other alternatives for the same reasons as you stated with much the same criteria. After considering most all options, I came across the Blaser Mag. & decided id look in to it further. not much info to say the least, but I kept at it & came up with all the info I needed to commit to having one built. Brass & dies were available, load data was in norma vol2 manual, norma loaded ammo for it, So I started acquiring components for an improved version, reamers were ordered, custom dies were ordered, & custom rifle components ordered, I also had Berger work up load data for 180 & 195's. Then stuff was sent off to the smith. fast forward to this week... I just received my custom 7mm Blaser Mag "Rogue" this week. it is an improved shoulder version with slight capacity increase. My rifle was built by Rhian at High Country Precision. (bigngreen on this forum). I had a hard time prying it away from Rhian, I think he enjoyed shooting it lol. maybe why he said he'd build one in a heartbeat in his previous post. I have not yet worked up loads for it yet , but I anticipate being able to run the 180's in the 3050 fps range & the 195's around 2900 fps from a 26" bbl. I think you'd be happy with a Blaser Mag. Excellent Brass is available from norma. non belted case fits nicely in a std long action , even with bullets seated long. I will be doing load work in the next couple weeks. pm me with any questions. David.
