Has anyone with a 300 Win Mag had a chance to shoot the ELD-X bullets yet? I curious how they are grouping and what kind of speed you are seeing with them so far?

Any load data would be appreciated.

Tagging in.

I have some 178's on their way to me, but I'm still weeks out from having my bench set up after moving to our new house.

I just picked up a box of 200 grain for my 300. If it ever stops raining I might get a chance to shoot them. Still trying to decide on what powder to start with.

My buddy has the 200 grainers shooting 0.5 MOA out of his 300 WSM and I"ve got the 212 grainers doing the same out of my 300 RUM. Another friend will be developing loads for his 300 Win Mag but he hasn't done it yet. Bottom line - they shoot good and, oh yeah, the tips don't melt half way to the target!

That 200 grainer is a great fit for the 300 WSM.

Any way you could post the load data your buddy is using for his 300 WSM? That's what I shoot and I'm getting ready to load up some of the 200gr ELD-X's. I'd appreciate any info

Thanks

Tagging in ... i'm about to load up the 212 in a 300wm and the 200 in a wsm for two of my hunting buddies. Any info on those combos is going to be much appreciated!

I'm betting 63 grains of RL17 or 67 grains of 7828ssc would have that 200 grain ELDX flying at 2900+ fps out of a 300 WSM.

Thanks Brent, I just so happen to have a good amount of RL17 on hand... I'll start low and see how close to 63 grains my buddies wsm ends up!

That RL17 load will put you up over 2950 fps depending on barrel length. It's a legit load.

For those of you who asked about the 300 WSM load my buddy settled on with the 200 grain ELD-X bullets - it was 65.0 grains of H4831SC to get an average velocity of 2815 fps with an ES of 11. He is using a Savage Model 12 LPV (26" barrel).

Sounds about right for H4831SC.
