Anyone out there tried rl-17 with the .300 win? I'm wanting to to try some I've got lying around with some 210 vld's. Any input is appreciated.

Joe, many have had very accurate results with H1000 or 7828SC. RL17 seems a bit fast for a 210gr bullet. RL17 is has a burn rate like H4350. Just my opinion. Good luck

Used it with Barnes 150 TTSX and 175 LRX in my 300 WM.
Didn't try it with the heavier ones.

Shoots good and fast, but was not impressed when I did some temp testing. Load would shoot well when it was a little warmer and go to pot when the temps drops.

I would think if you weren't shooting too far, like me with the copper bullets it would be ok.

I tried it with 165gr sierra gamekings, it shot ok. I got better results with IMR4350. I think it's too fast for a 210gr, you'd be better off trying RL26, H1000 or something like that.

I'm with many of the above. H1000 is my "go to" large case powder but I also really like Alliant and RL 26 is showing great results for me in everything from the .260 to the .300wm and 7mm STW.

I'm at 76 gr. Of h1000 after a ladder test with the 210 vld's. Touching lands but still need to play with seating depth. It's shooting 1/2 moa to 1moa. Need to shoot off a bench and sled to really test it out

My choice would be a slower burning powder like H1000 or RL 26. Both shoot 200 gr ELD-X's very well out of my 300 Win Mag.

Good advice. H1000 is incredibly consistent with cases in this size range. RL26 will give substantially higher velocities for a lot of people and with a little work great accuracy on the scale we see with H1000.
