Finished work early today and went to the range today. I had loaded 3 rounds each with different seating depths but with the same weight of powder (59.5 grains of IMR 4350). Overall Lengths: 2.892" 2.882" 2.872" 2.862" I forgot to grab pics of the targets and I left them in a friends truck. I will describe as best I can. 2.892" shot a 1" group with 2 bullets touching the same hole. The other was the same for elevation but 1" to the shooters left. 2.882" shot almost a 2" group in about an equilateral triangle. 2.872" shot about 1" 1/2 group with 2 bullets about 3/4" up and down apart vertically and one about a 1/2" to the right of the lower one. 2.862" had 2 bullets touching but not touching as tight as the 2.892" ones and the other shot was about an 1" 1/4 away from them. Overall the groups were a little better with the exceptiong of the 2.882". The 2.892" group was about the best followed but the 2.862" group which is only 5 thou farther out than what I had been seating the bullets at. Anyways my plan is to load 5 of the 2.892" and 5 of the 2.862" and send them down range to see how they look. Thoughts?? I could also seat the bullets closer to the lands as I am about .014 off of them with my longest round??
