Have a 270 wsm as a backup rifle . My question is with a 140 acubond @ 3200 fps at muzzle a legitimate 300 yrd. round for cow elk ?
Thanks for any insite.

Perfect out to 300. My guide would much rather a hunter show up in camp with a .270 or 30/06 that they can shoot instead of a .300 Mag or similar that they can't shoot . The .270 wsm is a great choice especially if you already have it and have practiced with it.

Perfect! I just can't get enough of that 270 wsm. Great for elk. My buddy used my tikka for an antelope at 500 and my wife used it for a moose at 40 yards. Both dead after 1 step.

I wouldn't have a problem shooting a cow out to 800yds with that set up if it is accurate enough and the conditions are good.
