  • Hey kirby

I might be getting a left handed 338-378 weatherby accumark, and was wondering if your aps brakes could be swapped for the accubrake, if so how much more felt recoil would be taken away, shooting 250 to 300 grain, bullets? how is the accubreak as far as brakes go? and how much are your brakes? the guy i am getting the gun from has a suppressor he had made for it, i just don't if i want to mess with all the paperwork and stuff. do you have any load data for the 300 smks? thanks for your help. g shaw

If you are NOT a reloader, stick with a 7mm Rem Mag or 300 Win Mag.
    Hello Mr Allen,
I was interested in talking to you about making a 375 Cheytac rifle. Do you have a phone number that I could call and speak to you about the possible building of this rifle?

    Thanks

Kirby I'm interested in your 7mm AM. How much would it cost if I sent you a rem 700 receiver to have trued, chambered and thread a 26-28 in tube on it? Thanks hope to hear from you

I am putting together a long range hunting rifle in 7mm wsm and will be buying a Kreiger barrel. I haven't decided whether to go with a #5 or #6 contour. I am interested in your muzzle brake and would like to know if it would fit and barrel measuring .700 or .750 ?
    Kirby,

Thanks again for the 175gr MK's that you sent as part of the TC 308 rifle package.

I loaded up some H4895 with the MK's and the groups have been awsome, how will the MK be for hunting Mule Deer and Elk?
    Hi Kirby,

I'd like your thoughts on building a 6.5x55, trying to stay under 10lbs with scope. I'd like ti to be a tackfriver, for shooting deer and long range target practice. I'm looking for someone to build the gun that is knowledgeable. Are you interested? Have you built one before? What might it cost? Thanks, Ed
I am considering a new build and am trying to decide on some things. I read many of your posts and like what I have read so I decided to ask you for some advice. First off what I am looking for is a rifle that I can shoot out to about 600 yrds on animals deer, antelope and coyotes. I will occasionally be shooting some targets stuff longer than that so I want an accurate shooter out to 1000. I have narrowed it down I think to a 6.5x284. first off what do you think of my choice, is it appropriate for what I will use it for? second I saw that you make a 6.5 allen mag., what is the difference and what are the pros and cons of each, and which would you reccomend. I was considering doing much of this work myself but am starting to think I would be dissapointed in what I produce. so this is why I am contacting a quality smith. thanks for any help. John
Having only had a few cutom rifles, I don't know a great deal about them. Nor do I claim to either. However, I would like to know why the 3 groove barrel is better then 4 or 5. It would seem to me, the 5 would offer greater accuracy. I know the 3 groove would foul less, but is that and throat erosion that much different.? I am going to build a 6. STW and would like the barrel to last as long as possible with the greatest accuracy possible for long range shooting. Want to stay in the 140gr bullet weight region.
    Thanks
    Kirby,
A couple questions for you. I know you don't do a lot of general gunsmithing and prefer to build custom rifles, but I like the fact you are a perfectionist as well. I need a scope or two mounted and I need them to be 100% perfectly vertical and horizontal. Normally I do this myself, but I know longer have the resources I once had. Would you be willing to mount a couple scopes for me? One is on an RRA AR-15, the other is a Ruger VT. Also do you do any barrel flutting?
    Thanks,
    Troy Adams
Kirby, I've lost your email address, can you send it to me?? I wanted to show you the buck I took this year with the XP 308 you built. Thanks, Mark Hampton
