They are the same...And in all honesty, the newer actions seem to have better tolerances than the old ones thanks to modern tooling and CNC. That whole "old vs. new" is just bullcrap rumors.

Believe none of what you hear, and only half of what you see...

I'll bite. In my limited experience, I've seen good and bad from the old and new. Good being threads and face parallel, and perpendicular to bolt journals or raceways. Bad being not. Almost everyone that I can remember messing with only had one locking lug making contact in locking lug recess. Only exceptions that come to mind were actions that were very old and likely had several hundred or more rounds through them. Most I've measured the actual locking lugs on bolt were within .001", and bolt faces have been within .001"-.002" except a 7RUM stainless action i blueprinted and rebarreled. That bolt face was about .0045" out. Another SS in .223 was egg shaped, probably from whoever pulled the original barrel and attempted to true action. Epoxy in raceways, and barrel just over hand tight. If trued up and not egg shaped too bad, these actions make good shooting rifles.
YMMV

Here is something posted on another site.......
If the action has an RR prefix on the serial number you can GUARANTEE it to be AFU right out of the box. Remington changed foundries a few years back and whoever made the tool for investment casting screwed it up badly. Cam surfaces are not tangent to the action feature and its in the wrong position. There is NO PE on this series of action. We fix every single one of them that comes through here.

I have an "RR" serial numbered 5R Milspec .300WM, and it functions fine... But I haven't gone through it yet and broke it down to check tolerances. I will once I figure out what I'm going to do with it. I might have the action blueprinted and the chamber re-cut on the brand new 5R barrel to .300 Ackley (like my other custom .300 Ackley). I have no use for a .300WM, so might as well build another Ackley since I have plenty of brass. Bought it new in 2014, and still have never shot it...

I once had a car that ran fine if I didn't drive it.

This is not good news. We just got 3 of the "RR" actions. What needs to be done to them to make them right?

That comment was made by Chad Dixon. He would be the one to answer your question.

I thought Remington actions were machined from bar stock , not cast like Ruger . Please correct me if I'm mistaken.
