Hello. I am in the market for a hunting rifle for deer and occasional elk. I have a possible deal on a Christensen Ridgeline in 300 wsm. It has a muzzle break but is a lightweight rifle. I am wondering if anyone has shot one and can tell me how the recoil is. I was going to go with a smaller caliber to be able to keep rifle weight manageable but also keep recoil low so I can do a lot of practice. Thank you in advance for your replies.

Muzzle jump is bit much with no brake. Im still in break in mode with my Ridgeline 300RUM. Trying some 212g eldx at around 2900f/s with RL25 its more of a big push. I would think your wsm may be more punchy. I did order the baffled break just for the tuning ability for muzzle jump. I highly recommend this rifle. Only negative I can think of is the mag box is short compared to what youll want if hand loading. Cheek piece or stock pad may be needed if going with big scope too. Nice tight of the shelf rifle. Theres a review over on long range only .com. Those guys seem to be all about Christensen. Good luck.
I have s Ridgeline in 300 Win Mag. Recoil isn't an issue. The radial brake is very effective in reducing recoil. If you shoot prone, get the slayer brake, unless you enjoy a dirt shower. I did put a slayer on mine. Recoil is the same with each brake as far as I can tell, but muzzle blast is much more prone friendly with the slayer.
