Bass Pro powder ?

Anybody check the prices on R 17 and H 4350 powder at Bass pro shops. Huweeee, R 17 $44.00 and H 4350 - $38.00 a pound WTH. Cabela's $18.50 for H 4350. Graf and Son's R 17 for $27.00. Come on, Bass Pro you'll start losing customers real soon.

About the only thing I buy in BPS is fishing stuff and some hunting clothes. Not much else for that same reason listed above.

Me too. I guess they have to find some way to pay for all that musem atmosphere.
Whether or not they're taking over Cabela's, it won't matter. I don't shop there any more either. They rarely have anything I'm looking for.

Bass Pro's prices on a great many things is ridicules and as previously stated they have purchased Cabelas when they get around to jacking up Cabelas prices I'll be done with them also. I use Sheels and a couple local vendors for powder most of the time but powdervalley.com is only an hour from me.

BPS owning Cabelas makes me wonder if they'll reduce the selection and raise prices at Cabelas? I still buy powder there since the prices are competitive, but there are several shops near me that are comparable now. Went to the local BPS when they opened, that was once too many.

I have Cabela's in town but I try to avoid it when I can. My LGS cost less on everything fortunately. I can get a couple pounds of powder and a box of Berger 215 hybrids for just over $110

As far as buying at Cabelas goes, If I have all of the following ...
1. A % off coupon AND
2. More than $30 in Cabelas points or a gift card AND
3. It is on sale ( my store price matches their website sales)
Then I'll buy powder, bullets, or primers.

They do have good prices on brass.

I agree, buy local if possible. Shipping charges are getting higher at many vendors.

I have a BPS about 5 min away. I have a Sportsman's Warehouse about 20 minutes away. I am perfectly happy to drive the extra 15 minutes each way. SW not only has better prices on the stuff I buy but they also have a much larger reloading section. I did visit BPS once this summer when I wanted to try on a pair of wading boots to check for fit. I then ordered them from a small shop in CA for $50 less, free shipping and no tax.

I stopped at the original bass pro a few weeks ago to use a gift card I got for x mad and they are not what they used to be! Way overpriced on everything. The pro shop at the range I use is the best priced supplier I have found. 1 pound and 8 pound jugs of almost all powders, brass and bullets cheaper than any online store

I hope Bass Pro is reading some of these replies because if we are all thinking this way how many thousand other sportsmen and women are thinking the same way. Overpricing is not a good thing in the hunting and shooting community, word travels fast. And there is always other places to buy reloading supplies and ammo.

Any box store that was dependent on reloading supplies to survive is not still open today. As none of them have had enough inventory the past 8 years to make a dent in their operating expenses. They have all morphed into high priced clothing stores. vote with your $$ they don't care
