130 grain 6mm bullets?

I'll have to check as far as if the jacket thickens. My guess is if it thickens at all it won't be much.

Will do! I've been playing with entering the bullet dimensions into the JBM calculations. It seems that with the meplat at the current diameter of .062" (or about .25 caliber as entered in the JBM calculations) the G1 is predicted at about .600 but if I tip the bullet and close that metplat down by half or smaller the BC jumps quite a bit (obviously) to near .700 G1. I suppose I will experiment and make me a tipping die and then get some drop numbers to match BC when I get the barrel back and some more bullets made.

Wow, that is a heck of a bullet ! I love the 6mm's & have been thinking about
6mm-06 or similar but Reloder 26 has got Berger 105's up to 3,400fps in a straight .243 WIN so I am happy playing with that for now, until I read of this 130 grain bullet. I have 2 Excaliber 7 twist Savages in .243 WIN to play with big bullets and both have proved to be great barrels. You might consider trying Reloder 26 as it seems to be a miracle powder yielding speeds like no other powder has.

Tagging in on this. I can't believe I missed this last year! Any updates on how it shoots or what 100 rounds of your ammunition would cost?

Haven't had a chance to do any more shooting with these bullets. Busy and now weather has snowed us in.

Haven't had a chance to make any more of these bullets besides the first 500 round lot I made.

Before I even consider offering any I need to fine tune it a bit more but from initial results it has some awesome potential as long as one uses a 7 twist barrel.

I have some 6-284 and 6-06AI dies just gathering dust. The reason I always shot the 115 Berger is sectional density. Small bores need long pills for game to penetrate well. The 115 Bergers were vicious on whitetails, I am sure these 130s would be even meaner and would give a reason for the 284, 06 or even SAUM cases to be utilized. My 6-284s and 06 were just a little overbore for a 115 IMHO.

I've got a 6mm-270 WSM Improved in the works I was planning on slinging 115gr Bergers/DTACs from but a 130gr, even if it were only .650 BC, would absolutely STOMP most of the 6.5mm options available right now!

A 284 or 06 case has been known to DUST the Bergers, IDK on the DTACS a WSM based rig you might be careful with the rifling.

What are expecting to get out of that cartridge? I've got a 6.5-270 WSM and love it. A 6 seems like it would absolutely fly!

I called Sierra and chatted with one of their techs over there a couple days ago about that. He said as long as I keep the rifling clean, I shouldn't have an issue with them "dusting" on me

I want something that will fly... lol
I've got a problem, and I will most likely need to start a barrel company to afford this addiction.
That 130 may not scoot as quickly as a 115 though. I was projecting 3400+ fps and really hoping for somewhere along the 3450fps range. I'm pretty sure I could hit 3250fps with that 130 in the short 24" barrel I'll be using.

I've got that same problem. My 22 Creedmoor flies with 82 grainers but I also chamber my own rifles so that makes it a little cheaper but not much.
